DLR Transport sponsored Ben Luxton scored two P6 finishes in the Pirelli Superstock 600 series at Oulton Park last weekend.
Despite contending with a dose of flu and unpredictable weather, Ben maintained his characteristic consistency and speed on the JR Performance Racing ZX-6R throughout the weekend. He placed P3 in both free practice sessions, then placed P5 in a wet qualifying session with a time of 1m49.703s, +1.029s from pole. Ben then finished P6 in both race heats, the latter with a brisk best lap of 1m41.265s.
Ben takes 20 points from Oulton Park and lies fifth on the leader-board with 109 points. Having won both race heats and taken 50 points, Storm Stacey leapfrogs Ben and now lies fourth.
“We had a very mixed weekend at Oulton Park,” said a spokesperson for J.R. Performance Racing. “Every session was tough with very unpredictable weather conditions. Ben took two strong P6 finishes. Considering he was struck down with man-flu, this was a great effort and very well done. We head to Donington Park in a few weeks to do it all again.”
“Oulton Park was a tough one,” said Ben, “but I’ll be ready to bounce back at Donington Park.
“Thanks to J.R. Performance Racing Kawasaki for their help and support. Thanks also to DLR Transport, Paul Rodgers, Luke Rogers, OMG Racing UK, Cool Milk, Knox Armour and 4SR.”
Ben next takes to the track for Round 11 of the series at Nottinghamshire’s Donington Park GP circuit from 4th to 6th October.
